In college application essays (as in many other forms of writing) clichés are generally considered the "kiss of death." However, if you're a rising senior in high school and "eager beaver" who's really "on the ball," you can turn a tired old saying into cash for college by entering this essay contest.

Essays should be 500 words or less and submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 for consideration. Winners will be notified by September 30, 2009 and results will also be posted on the website. Portions of the winning essay(s) may also be posted.
Submit your essay via email to heather@essaylady.com. Only rising seniors may apply.
Please include the following information in your email:
- Name & address with email address and phone number
- Name of high school & guidance counselor
- List of colleges you're applying to
- Essays will be judged on
- Creativity
- Adherence to the theme
- And overall technical quality.
